Honors Pre-Calculus

According to the Harvard Graduate School of Education, “
kids arrive back at school every fall much worse off in mathematics than they finished in the spring. On average, students lose approximately 2.6 months of learning in math over the summer,” (Shafer, 2016).

The goal of this assignment is to keep you practicing mathematics so that you don’t forget your geometry and algebra skills over the summer. Pre-Calculus is a subject that merges these two subjects together. You will be expected to recall content knowledge and skills from both classes. This summer assignment contains review material from both courses that you will need to know.  Feel free to research any examples and find video tutorials online. You may work together and help each other out. You may also use your notes from Geometry and Algebra 2 if you have saved them. If you need more room, feel free to attach extra paper, graphs, tables or drawings. Be sure to label the axes whenever you draw a graph. Leave all of your answers in simplified fraction or radical form. Pay attention to bolded or underlined words. Those words are meant to grab your attention.  There could be more than one way to solve some of the questions so make sure you show your work (or explanation) clearly so I can follow YOUR process.

Please log into the Google classroom so that you can see extra resources and be able to ask questions. Please feel free to email either Mrs. Peabody or Mrs. Sanborn over the summer as well.
